I’m using Portfolio press with fasthosts
    MYSQL Version : 5.1.71-log
    SQL Mode : Not set
    PHP Version : 5.4.14
    PHP Safe Mode : Off

I’m new to using wordpress and I’m confused about what has happened to my image galleries.
I have 24 images in 6 columns here and it looks ok.
However when i change the number of columns to 4 here I get 4 images then 1 image then 4 images and so on

Anyone help with a solution? Thanks in advance.

@murphyqwerty – Are you using a specific template for your gallery display?

    Hi
    I’m using Portfolio Press theme.
On the Edit page there is a section called “Page Attributes” and under “Template” the drop down box shows “Default Template”

    The other options are:
    Full width and gallery posts
    Full width page
    Full width portfolio
    Image and gallery posts
    Portfolio

@murphyqwerty – I should have been more clear, are you using a NextGEN Gallery (custom) template to display the gallery and its images … specifically the “gallery.php” template?

    Hi
    Thanks for helping.
If I go onto gallery>gallery settings> nextGen Basic thumbnails then the template drop down box is showing “gallery.php”

The basic compact and basic extended albums are showing “album compact.php”

@murphyqwerty – We recently discovered using the “gallery.php” gallery template is not in fact producing the exact same output as the default (read: blank) template setting.

You may see similar “odd” behavior with other Gallery Settings where their template is set to the same as the display. Unless you have purposely modified that template and want to use that layout it is best to leave the template set to blank.

Change these to the “blank” setting and save; then, clear the image cache under Gallery > Other Options > Miscellaneous.

    Thanks!

    – Cais.

PS: Testing currently shows the “gallery.php” template to not display as expected for 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, and 9 columns. C.

Many thanks for this help. I followed your instructions and then deleted the gallery from the page and reloaded it. It’s displaying correctly now, see here

I’m in the UK and it’s 8.10 pm on a bank holiday so I’ll look into tidying up the page tomorrow (centering the display).
Once again ,thanks for the help.

    Resolved.

@murphyqwerty – Glad to see its working better for you. You might even consider setting the number of columns to 0 (zero) and letting them be automatically calculated based on the available width.
