    Hi there

I have a photographic website. I have created a Foogallery masonary gallery and noticed that the thumbnails lose their vibrancy. I have tried the following to resolve this, however i have had no success.
    1. Increased retina
    2. Forced load original thumbnails
    3. Used image optimizers including shortpixel.
    4. Increased Foogallery thumbnail quality from 80 to 100
    5. Increased WordPress image quality from 82 to 100

Please see the following link https://www.opulenz.co.za/portfolio/. Note the thumbnails all look flat and lifeless. When you click on the thumbnail the actual image comes up and you will note the full vibrancy of the image.

I have also included some of the images onto the page using the Elementor image tool for comparison purposes.

I would appreciate all assistance with this as I have deleted my old website already!

    Kind regards
    Kamal

  • Funny you should bring this up as I have just noticed it myself over the weekend. I traced it down to having changed my settings to ProPhoto RGB from sRGB for the export to jpeg from my processing software. I did a re-export of the same images using sRGB and imported them into WordPress and the issue seems to have been resolved.

    Hi @lotusfool,

I’m not aware of any reason why the FooGallery would be changing the vibrancy of images being displayed when no filters are active.

@jimfrostfrost’s suggestion is interesting and makes me wonder if there is an external reason for what you’re seeing.

@bradvin – do you have any thoughts on this?

    Hi

I redid my images as sRGB, and the lack of vibrancy still persists.

@bradvin @phillcoxon please advise other potential solutions.

    Regards and appreciated

@steveush – are you able to take a look at this and give feedback?

    Thanks!

    Hi @lotusfool,

    That’s great to hear.

This support request thread has proven very interesting and we’re now looking into other areas that may improve color profiles in thumbnails.

Specifically we’re looking to add an option to FooGallery Pro to use imagemagik instead of GD for generating thumbnails which provides better & sharper image conversion and better respects color profiles.

If you’d like to test this new feature out please sign up for Beta releases in FooGallery -> Settings so you’ll be notified when this update is release.
