I just updated wordpress and nextgen and lost the styles on my thumbnails, and the thumbs were just in one column after the update. I saw quite a bit of discussion on this, but the solutions suggested either didn’t apply to me (already have wp header/footer in header/footer files), or didn’t work (selecting the default stylesheet — it already seemed to be selected). I’ve worked around the issue with some custom css, but I’m wondering if there’s a better solution. I guess it might be a conflict with my theme, but I’d rather not try another theme, for fear of messing something else up, and it was working with this theme before the update. Any clues would be appreciated….

@sky19er – It could be a conflict with the theme as this is the most common thing when the NextGEN Gallery JavaScript and CSS used to display thumbnails is not written to the page as is the case here.

It may also be a conflict with another plugin. You may have the best work-around in your case by adding the relevant custom CSS as you have described.

The best test for the theme component of troubleshooting is to temporarily change to one of the default WordPress Twenty series themes. This can sometimes be accomplished by just using the Live Preview of the theme as well.

Ahh, of course, I should’ve thought to at least try deactivating the other plugins! Turns out it was a conflict with “NextGEN Gallery Optimizer Premium”. I can’t remember what I was using that for, anyway – maybe just hoping to increase page speed — anyway, I’m happy to leave it deactivated for now. Thanks!

@sky19er – Thanks for the update. It seems almost every installation with that plugin active has issues. Please let that plugin author know about the problems you were seeing so they can try to address them.
