    Yes, you can simply copy the file “/includes/core-addons/private-file/templates/private-file-customer_area_user_file_item.template.php” to a folder “wp-content/customer-area/templates”

    Then you will need to edit the file to add the code to show the featured image just like you would do for a post in the loop.

    In version 3.0.1, the file you need to update has been renamed. It is now called ‘list_private_files-item.template.php’
