Thumbnails don't change after running the plugin

Hi,
i am running AJAX plugin rebuilder but nothing change and the thumbnails are all messed up. The web developer told me the problem is the permission of my uploads folder. I changed them to 777 but still the same problem.
Does anybody has any idea what is the problem and how to fix it?
