When creating a new gallery, you give it a name and are auto assigned an ID. Once the name is given to the gallery. You have the options to Scan Folder for new images. If you have 1-150 photos the system will process the images while creating the thumbnail as designed. If you have 150-500 photos the system appears to create as many thumbnails as it can and times out by returning to the gallery page. Making it very difficult for users to upload photos. So i created a process of using the GUI to create the gallery and when its created the folder is created in the backend and we FTP images from local machine into the newly created /gallery directory. Then I go back to GUI and Scan Folder for new images. If the photos again are 150 and below it can create thumbnails and it will process a few and return to a blank page. If its more than 150 it cannot create any thumbnails even though the images are available. I really would like to get this resolved as it makes my photo posting duplicate tasks when I should press two buttons and be done. I understand that you use a ID tag in your post to show your gallery, I’ve never had an issue with the gallery appearing in my post (that works as designed) my issue is with the thumbnails and the landing page as its trying to process the scan folder images.

@successwindows – Thanks for the report especially the note that you are using GoDaddy hosting. We are aware of the limitations that can occur on their hosting services and have tried to mitigate as much as possible the issues these limitations might cause.

As you have noted, there appears to be a limit at around 150 images (or at least in your site’s configuration/environment), it may be a case of you having to work-around that limitation by creating multiple galleries as staging points then once all of the staging galleries are created you can then move/copy the images into the final display gallery (this should take care of the issue with thumbnails, etc.).

    Thanks!

I thank you for your reply, but specifically what do we need to do to resolve this issue. Obviously something is happening on the backend. I don’t mind communicating this to GoDaddy or whoever and working to a resolve. This is very time consuming for me and its pictures that are posted from events daily and I meant hundreds of people hundreds of pictures. This pics have to be available within a few hours. I dont want to create extra steps and extra galleries by staging. What are the requirements I need to discuss with GoDaddy? I was thinking it was a limitation in your plugin as GoDaddy had advised me to speak with your company. If we needed to upgrade to a paid support contract (that’s fine too) i just need to know if we can work to get this resolved. We are a Carnival Cruise Line vendor and we are sharing thousand of photos a day. I NEED HELP with this.

@successwindows – We have seen that GoDaddy may employ “throttling” methods when it comes to uploads, those the limitations we have tried to help mitigate with our code. To the absolute specifics of what may need to be addressed, there is not enough details in this topic currently.

Please feel free to send us a Bug Report (https://imagely.com/report-bug/ … please reference this topic) so we can get a better look under the page at your site.

Please include as many details as you can about your site and the issue at hand.

    Thanks!

Per your request I have submitted a bug regarding this. Our company is willing to pay for support request even though we are using the basic form of your plugin which works fine for what the client expects. Just looking to get this resolved asap with working with NextGen and GoDaddy. Thanks!!
