Thumbnails and Feature Images

Hi, Thanks again for a great theme!

I was hoping to get a little bit of an explanation of how the featured images, slider, and thumbnails work as it appears to be a little unpredictable for me.

On the homepage some images seem to get stretched or squashed, some get cropped, some use the featured images as the thumb but some just pull a regular image.

I’m happy to make custom square images for all of the featured images/thumbs, however then they wouldn’t be the ideal proportion for the slider at the top?

Any explaination or tips of our I can over come these issues would be much appreciated.
