Thumbnail When Sharing Is Wrong

  • When I share any product or product category, the thumbnail that is provided is the wrong image. I am unsure of whether that may be due to me migrating my site several times, after each iteration of a site or new URL, or not. It used to originally work now all my thumbnails for products and product categories are a toss up whether I am going to see the proper thumbnail.

    Do you mean sharing via something like facebook? if the correct image is on the page, and in the source, it could just be that its been previously shared with the previous image and some sort of caching is involved/out of your control tied to the URL itself.

    Yes, in Facebook when I share a product category or a certain product… the image shows a different image. The thing that confuses me is that it shows a picture of a different product or product category that has no relation to it or is anywhere similar or even close to it in terms of the layout of my product categories or products.

    WordPress SEO plugin I believe has options to add opengraph tags for facebook. Might be worth a look https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/yoast-woocommerce-seo/
