    Hello+
I’m looking for a gallery plugin that allows me to have a specific part of the main image showing. I need to be able to not show the entire image in the thumbnail and I need to be able to have a specific part of the main image as the thumbnail (not a random part of the main image). Is that possible with this plugin? If so, how would I do that? Please advise.
    Thank you.

  • If I understand your question correctly, the answer is no.

Although you’re able to change the dimensions in pixels on how you want your thumbnail images to display, it will crop from the center of the image so you can’t really choose a specific area like you’ve described.

    Hi+
Thank you for the quick response!
Okay, can I upload a different image for the thumbnail than the larger view? (I would make my own “thumbnail” that shows the specific part of the main image and have that link to a different image file that is the actual main image.)
    Thanks!

You could do what you want, by providing a custom URL for each attachment, which points to the full size image.
