Thumbnail not visible

    Hello! Thanks for the amazing plugin.

    Thumbnails became non-visible in the past ~10 days. Black screen with Play arrow is only shown, after that everything works well.

    I tested my API key (OK), cleared cache, went from locally saved thumbnail to not, and back (no change), am NOT forcing HD.

    Unfortunately, I still have the issue. Any help would be appreciated.

    the thumbnail URL is giving a 404 not found error, which is weird .. my gut says this is caused by *something* (a security plugin) blocking direct access to PHP-files in wp-content/plugins (or wp-content as a whole), can you look into that (and/ or ask your host if they are blocking such direct requests)?

    Thanks Frank for your answer, I use Ithemes Security which released version 8 recently – but I don’t see anything that might indicate a change (thumbnails were working fine before August).

    I’ll let you know if I find something…

    OK, as a quick test try disabling iThemes Security for a minute to see if that makes the thumbnail URL work maybe?

    Fixed! And you were right. Quoting this page by @nlpro.

    First thing that comes to my mind is that it might be that the iTSec plugin is configured to prevent direct PHP execution from the plugins folder.

So navigate to the Security > Settings menu option and then click on the Advanced link at the bottom of the fold down menu.

Under System Tweaks then try and disable the Disable PHP in Plugins checkbox, if it is currently enabled.

Note ALL System Tweaks settings affect the .htaccess file content.
