    Dear,

I am using kiwi social plugin version 2.0.4 with Wp version 4.8.2.
When posting to twitter, the thumbnail of the post is not published. A “twitter empty” image appears in the place of the thumbnail, while the post contains og:image.
Can you tell me how to fix this?

  • Hello,

We`re investigating this issue at this moment.

    Thank you for your patience.

    Hello @testergp,

We have tested this and the twitter image sharing works as intended.
The image shows when sharing a post that has a featured image.
You can also use this card validator to test your posts out:

    INFO: Page fetched successfully
    INFO: 19 metatags were found
INFO: twitter:card = summary tag found
    INFO: Card loaded successfully
The featured image of the page is not published on Twitter but in place of that the wrapper image of twitter that you van find here https://ton.twimg.com/tfw/assets/news_stroke_v1_78ce5b21fb24a7c7e528d22fc25bd9f9df7f24e2.svg.
    Any help appreciated.

    Hello @testergp,

Can you please send me the url of that page so I can investigate this?

    Thank you,
    Mihaela

Can I send it by email or other way? Can’t post the url on forums.

Please sent it at [email protected]

    Thank you,

    Hello @testergp,

Thank you for sending the url – it helped.
I was able to see that you are using YoastSEO, and Kiwi is designed to not interfere with that plugin and let it add its meta tags however it wants.
In short, it checks to see if you have YoastSEO installed, and if you do, it does not adds again meta tags.
From what I can see YoastSEO adds them correctly, and the image should show, but there is another plugin that interferes with YoastSEO and adds again og:image tag and other meta tags, which is causing the issue.
If you are unsure as to which plugin it is, you can deactivate all of them and then reactivate them one by one until you find the one that is causing it.

    All the best,
    Mihaela
