Thumbnail image too small

I don’t see a LYTE embed currently I’m afraid wasilij so can’t really say what’s going on. If you have staging site (or a test page hidden from navigation on the main site) I’d be happy to take a look.

I thought that this plugin also hooks into the regular WP embed process, because I see a lot of ytlite things in the HTML.

But anyway, I made a test page, where I embedded the video as stated in the docs, so via httpv://….

strange, as I don’t. maybe the content blocker is not active for logged in users, so you see the page with a LYTE whereas I don’t?

that indeed is a LYTE vid, but based on what I see you might not have an API key set, so LYTE does not get info from the YouTube API and hence does not *know* what thumbnail sizes are available. can you check if you have an API key and if not provide one?

You’re right, I was logged in and also viewing the page in not logged in state does not show me the ytlyte things in the HTML.

In the backend there is an API key set, but when I press the Test button, it says me that the key appears to be ok, but there is a technical error: bad Request.

So do you think that it comes from that?

likely .. question is why you get that bad request. could you make a screenshot of the exact error and post it over on imgur or similar and link to it so I can compare with the code to (hopefully) see what is happening?

Yes, pressing the Test-Key button leads to same result.

But anyway I’ll try to figure out, whether the API key is right or wrong. I asked a colleague because I am not the only one working on this website.

So I will inform you, if I have more details about the key.

not I updated the YouTube ApiKey and I do not get the error message when I test the key. I says now:
“The API seems to be OK, changes can now be saved below.”

And now when I also enable the checkbox “Try to enforce HD”, then the quality of the thumbnail is low. Do you have some hints how to find out where the problem is.

OK, can you create a new temporary post/ page and add a YT vid there to see how this behaves on an entirely new page?

Afraid the reason is the video does not seem to have a maxresdefault.jpg thumbnail;

Why the highres thumb. does not exist I don’t know I’m afraid :-/
