Thumbnail Hard Crop Position Won't Work

I’m using Hueman theme and trying to make it so the thumbnails crop the top using:

add_image_size( 'custom-size', 220, 220, array( 'left', 'top' ) );

and it’s simply not working. I’ve spent hours and hours and hours trying to do this one thing. I’ve deleted cache plugin, reset htaccess, cleared my browser cache, cleared my dns manager cache, restarted my computer and it is STILL cropping from the center.

Someone please help me.
