    Hello,

I’ve noticed that fairly recently, my media folders have stopped generating thumbnails when I upload PDF files. After a little research, I came across this plugin to give it a try.

After installation, I tried the global thumbnail generation, and did not see any errors – however, I still had missing thumbnails.

When I try to regenerate thumbnails on specific media library items, I get:
Failed: 1757 is an invalid image ID.

I’ve got no clue how to resolve this…can someone offer me a clue? I’ve seen another thread that sounded similar to my issue…it involved the WP Rest API – I don’t have that installed.

    Thanks for your help.

When you initially upload the PDF with Regenerate Thumbnails deactivated, does WordPress generate thumbnails?

If not, then this may be an issue with the ImageMagick setup on the server. First, ensure that it is set up properly (this plugin might help).

If ImageMagick appears to be set up properly and it still isn’t working, and if you have access to the server to run CLI commands, please try the following:

    wp media regenerate

Does that work? If not, what is the error that you see?

If that command works, then it seems that the problem is with this plugin, which is likely related to this issue – https://github.com/Automattic/regenerate-thumbnails/issues/94
