In the Edit Thumbnail option, it allows me to crop the thumbnail and updates the main display accordingly, then as soon as I save changes or navigate away, it just resets it back to what it was before. I had this problem before and eventually it saved the cropped version, but I’ve tried a dozen times and every time it just resets to the default crop.

@aniam123 – In many cases where an operation appears to work as expected only to be reverted immediately afterward it generally points to a caching issue, especially noting that eventually the changes do get saved permanently.

If you are using a caching plugin/service you may need to temporarily deactivate it when making these changes. Please let us know if that helps to resolve this issue.

    Thanks!

    Hi Cais,
I seem to have the same problem. Earlier today I updated NextGen and now I have 3 instead of 4 columns (as before) of thumbnails. Trying to crop them in order to get 4 columns again, does not work. I deactivated cache before trying again.
Can you help to fix this?
    Rob.

    Hi Cais,
Nothing I’ve tried has made a difference other than temporarily. I don’t have any caching plugins as far as I know and I’ve disabled all image related plugins. I’ve cleared my browser cache and disabled caching and nothing has changed. When I Edit Thumb the correct crop always shows, but on the manage gallery page and everywhere else it shows the old version. I really don’t know where else to look.

@aniam123 – Perhaps a link to one of the inserted displays you are seeing this issue with will help to suggest other troubleshooting options?

    Thanks!

I think I fixed the website side by not having “override thumbnail settings” set. The Manage Galleries side is still resetting the thumbs in the display though. I’ve finally managed to get them to save correctly and I’m not going to be uploading any more pics for a while. I’ll try to video the issue next time I do some uploads.

@aniam123 – If this is related to your workflow, a video of it might be quite helpful.

    Thanks!
