Thumbnail boxes appear with green "folder" logo inside

Let me start by saying I’m a complete coding novice…
Recently I’ve been having problems seeing my thumbnail pictures on https://thefurtheradventuresofbennett.com. This is on the main page, and also on the Featured slider at the top of my theme, Polished.
I’ve been told by some people that they load and by others, they don’t. I can’t see them on my laptop or work computer.
I use a proxy every now and again, as being in China that is a necessity. I’m really worried that I will lose readers because they can’t see my pictures and I’m frustrated that they are not appearing, just showing a green folder shape everywhere a picture should be on the home page on Chrome and an X in Firefox.
Most photos are appearing in posts but sometimes there is the same problem.
Is it a coding issue or what?
