Hi,

I use wp bakery builder on my website, and I tried to install web stories on the home page using the classic editor. I have also tried to update the shortcodes according to the document below, but it didn’t work.

The problem is the widget is not showing the carousel arrows, or the image on the thumbnails. It only works on the lightbox.

Hi there

Could you please share the exact shortcode that you’ve added?

It looks like the text https://goyastage.wpengine.com/web-stories/testegoya/ is visible because you you added that as the archive_link_label option. But that should be an actual label like “View Archives”

Second, there are no carousel arrows yet because you only have 2 published stories. There’s no point in showing arrows if there’s not more content to display.

The thumbnails are shown as expected. The left story shows a gray placeholder gradient because you don’t have a story poster set for that story.

Hi, yes, this is the code I have added:
[web_stories title=”true” excerpt=”false” author=”false” date=”false” archive_link=”true” archive_link_label=”https://goyastage.wpengine.com/web-stories/testegoya/” circle_size=”150″ sharp_corners=”false” image_alignment=”left” number_of_columns=”5″ number_of_stories=”10″ order=”DESC” orderby=”post_date” view=”carousel” /]

I just uploaded the web stories through the classic editor, the widget automatically used the option “archive_link_label”. https://i.imgur.com/Zi4Yc8R.png
Sorry, could you please give me an example with the label ‘View Archives’?

But there are 12 posts on the web stories, and the cover is also set. So, I don’t know why this error might be happening. Please see the image here: https://imgur.com/a/48w7qc4

Use archive_link_label="View all stories" instead of archive_link_label=”https://goyastage.wpengine.com/web-stories/testegoya/

These are not separate posts, but 12 pages of the same story.

The widget lists only the stories themselves, not the pages within.

In case there is some confusion, Web Stories are not like stories on other platforms like Instagram.

On your website you currently have 2 published stories:

1. https://goyastage.wpengine.com/web-stories/10972/ – has 1 page, no poster image set (thus the gray placeholder)
2. https://goyastage.wpengine.com/web-stories/testegoya/ – has more pages, has a poster image (which is displayed in the carousel as expected)

Both are displayed on https://goyastage.wpengine.com/home-2/ as expected

Right. And where can I add posts instead of pages? I tried, but I only found the ‘pages’ option. I also don’t know if this is a translation matter, because I translated that page from Portuguese.

Use archive_link_label=”View all stories” instead of archive_link_label=”https://goyastage.wpengine.com/web-stories/testegoya/

Okay, thank you. I’ve updated the link_label. But where do I use this link ‘https://goyastage.wpengine.com/web-stories/testegoya/’ then?

Sorry for all these questions, it’s a bit confusing.

You can use this link for sharing the story with other people, like you can do with any other web page / blog post.

You can only create stories, and pages within stories. There are no “posts”.
