Throttling fetch_rss()

I’m using fetch_rss to pull in a couple of delicious tag feeds, but delicious doesn’t allow more than one request per second, so I keep getting locked out.

Is there a way to throttle the fetch_rss() requests so that it staggers fetches?

[I’m using Yahoo Pipes as a temporary work-around, but it’s a pain]
