I had a quick look a Thrive Architect. This page builder is closed source, meaning they do not provide access to the source code. In this case they do not even offer any documentation in regards to filters, actions and such like. This makes it particularly hard for me to get an integration going.

Astra is closed source as well but one of their developers contacted me regarding integration.

Following up on my reply there, I am currently working on filter and action hooks as well as API functions for an easy integration by third parties.
If you’re interested have a look at GitHub for the source code and also at the upcoming documentation.

I hope I get version 2.0 done in a few days and push it onto GitHub. My hope is that if the guys at Astra successful integrate their theme without me having access to their source code, then this would solve any closed source/license violation issues and would take a load of work off my mind.

All that being said, as soon as version 2 is stable I’ll give you an update so you can ask the lads at Thrive if they’re willing to integrate.

    Hi!
Since when is the Astra theme “closed source”? The Astra theme is free and fully GPL and here on www.remarpro.com theme repository.

    Hi David,

actually you’re right. Thanks for letting me know and my apologies for not doing my homework properly.
Also have a look here: Feature Request: Astra theme integration.

    Hi Gáravo,

thanks a lot! Thanks for your time and hard work you put into this – you are making a lot of users very happy with your plugin, myself included.
Your plugin already gets heavily recommended in various facebook groups for Elementor, GeneratePress Theme, OceanWP Theme and Astra Theme already.
You may already get a huge number of requests, still, let my add one more: “Page Builder Framework” – newer theme, fully GPL here on .org as well, I can connect you with its developer if needed. Together with the mentioned themes above this one gets recommended all the time and would be wonderful to have support in it.
If you are considering adding an API in your plugin yourself, I can try to build an integration for Genesis or have some other devs doing it.

Your plugin really serves a need especially when using Page Builders, and wanting consistent colors throughout – also in regards to the theme and the regular editor. This is having like three “variables” and your plugin comes to the rescue as the one consistent “cornerstone” for colors. Perfect!

When I discovered it early this year and recommended in a special course group for site builders people went crazy. The course creator did some videos again to include your plugin. It really helps people.

    Thanks again!

It should work out of the box.
At the moment any theme will show the palette inside the customizer if “Add to Customizer” is ticked and is not altering WP’s color picker, like GeneratePress Premium does.
I assume that’s what is a bit confusing for people, that connection between “Customizer” and “Theme/Page Builder XYZ”, so they won’t tick that box and ask me for an integration.
Right now I can’t think of any clearer way to get that across.

Thanks for this explanation, now I understand better what’s going on, was already wondering with a lot of others why Astra already seemed to work ??

You could add that info somewhere as help text maybe?

Or, can this be detected programmatically if a theme is not altering the color picker?
If this is possible you could do something like:
“Theme uses WP default, therefore already supported”

Don’t know if would make sense, though.

    Thanks for the input.
Have a look at version 1.12.2. To my knowledge Astra Theme and Page Builder Framework are those themes/plugins that support palettes without any extra integration, so those two now show up on the settings page besides “Add to Customizer”.
