• Hi, We got this plugin 2 years ago to try to fix thousands of weekly 404 errors that are showing on our website for Favicons, but after having it running for almost 2 years, we still see those error hits?

    Examples:

    apple-touch-icon-152×152.png
    apple-touch-icon-152×152-precomposed.png
    apple-touch-icon-120×120.png
    apple-touch-icon-120×120-precomposed.png
    apple-touch-icon.png
    apple-touch-icon-precomposed.png

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Maybe I can help now

After I had been missing div. apple*precomposed.png for a long time because they weren’t generated back then, I checked everything again and found the solution.

You have to call up the settings under Design/Favicon via the settings of the admin interface and regenerate the icons. Apparently the conversion website has been updated over time and you can now activate the generation of different sizes and also of apple*precomposed.png.

Everything seems to be fine on my website now.

    Hi @detoris!

We just did the whole regeneration process again today, but we’d already done that prior to posting this issue…we’ll see if this fixes it this time, thanks!

The easiest way to check if everything worked is to check via ftp. In the directory “yourDomain/wp-content/uploads” there should be a directory “fbrfg” or with a similar name. All icons should be there in the desired and required sizes. If any are missing, the settings were not selected when creating them.
