This site can’t be reached- ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED

  • My site was running very well on my Localhost machine. I was trying some simple plugin and theme installation stuff. All of a sudden, I get this –

    This site can’t be reached

    MyDemoDomain’s server DNS address could not be found.
    Did you mean https://mydemodomain.com/?
    ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED

    I restarted my WAMP server but no luck. Can anyone help ?

    Have you set up the domain name in your hosts file or similar, or do you access it via the IP? Is the above error the actual error and if so is your site called mydemodomain.com if not then it would appear that is the domain your site now thinks it is. Might be worth checking your siteurl and homeurl.

    Is the site still on localhost? Or did you migrate it to a live server?

    Thank u all, actually I use WAMP in my localhost. Site is in localhost. I added a new Host (not localhost) to Apache and it is working well again.But I have no idea why it was not working in localhost in the first place?
