This review will sound a bit strange – but I’m happy

WP Smush is like that awesome administrative assistant that helps you perform to your highest level while staying in the background and never really seeking the spotlight. And then, every once in a while, they’ll look to you for an acknowledgement – just a thank you – for the work they do.

Before using WP Smush, I used to spend significant time using offline photo optimization tools to minimize the size of my files and ensure they didn’t adversely affect my site’s load times. After installing it, I pretty much passed that responsibility on to the plugin. To be frank, I haven’t performed many metrics to see how good a job it’s been doing, but I’m pleased with the load times, and I guess, when files are actually being processed, there is an indicator (usually ignored) of how well files are being compressed.

WP Smush provides only a whisper of feedback while working, and if it wasn’t for the occasional gentle reminder to leave this review, I could forget it’s even there. So, overall, I’m very pleased with the work this plugin performs on my behalf.
