hi guys, im very desperate and i cant resolved it yet

    im working with wordpress 2.8.2
yesterday i tried to activate the nexgen-gallery plugin but i had an error about…something like “the database couldnt be updated” means that the plugin couldnt create 3 new tables on the database.

so i tried to find how some users solved this issue, and i found that some guy told that he fixed it editing the wp-config.php

    so i did it too………in this line define(‘DB_CHARSET’, ‘utf8’); i changed “utf8” for “utf8_general_ci”

i saved the file and tried to acces to the panel, but now, after type user and password and then click, appears a completely white page, nothing is shown and i cant access to the wordpress panel anymore.

i edited the file again with the original value, but its still the same problem.

onyone please can give some advice what to do?

  • Dont panic.

Most probably your wp-config.php now has a linebreak after the last line.

    It should not!

Again, most probably your wp-config.php outputs blank line before real headers are sent.

I’ve written this thing several times last days ??

    I’ve experienced this myself.

Do you have anything in your error logs? Make sure that there are no unusual characters that you might have mistyped in your wp-config.php file.
