This plugin works great for me

I looked at a lot of carousel plugins (premium and free) before using this one. I just wanted something simple yet would allow me to choose whatever product I wanted to display.

It does just that. It does not have a custom post type area to create carousels. It allows you to insert a carousel into any page or post just like inserting media. Once you click to insert there are all the custom settings.

Same controls are available with the widget. I’m using it on a WooCommerce site with a Genesis child theme and 20 plugins and it worked great right away. I even managed to style it a bit on my own too. No problem.
