    The latest version of the plugin doesn’t use timthumb by default. It uses WordPress’ inbuilt image system to create cropped images. You have a good interface to either choose existing image sizes (e.g. that your theme creates) or create your very own image size.

    Timthumb is still bundled in the plugin because many users have been using this in the past. It will be removed in the next version.

    If you’re concerned with timthumb being on your server, just delete the folder from within top-10.

    You need to make sure you don’t select the option in the Settings page then. (disabled by default)
