    I think maybe this is the best popular post plugin to look, but i noticed REALLY BIG problems with server load. This plugin consume an enormous amount of resources. I discovered that lately, when my server was crashing. With high traffic server load was around 80.00, eliminating the plugin the server load is around 1.00.
    Watch out if you have a lot of traffic on your website, this plugin can be devastating.

    I’m sorry to hear about that.

    However, the plugin does offer solutions for this: Data Sampling and it’s own caching feature (see Settings > WordPress Popular Posts > Tools). Any of these should help keep the load on the server as low as possible.
