• I’m also pretty sure I’ve fallen victim to this plugin, which meant I had to re-build a site from scratch in January. I just re-installed the plugin on the re-build (this time backed up countless times) as I’m trying to customise numerous Users with different roles as part of an e-commerce site built on WP e-commerce. A low level user was suddenly refused access (didn’t have access privileges upon logging in). Last time I managed to lock myself out as well, which necessitated the re-build. This time I managed to de-activate the plugin and everything seems ok again: all users have access. However, my concern is that this could happen again… DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THIS COULD HAPPEN / IS LIKELY TO HAPPEN??? I’ve de-activated the plugin, but haven’t yet deleted it. Should I delete it? I’ve also read people’s concerns about not being able to restore user roles to their default settings… should I be worried? I ran it in a test site and it seemed ok, the user capabilities were altered successfully with no access problems for any users, however when I replicated the role/capability alterations on the final build I encountered problems. It seems ERRATIC…
    Any insight would be great.

    Thanks

  • Hi jedisha,
My apology for the problems you had with AAM. And I can guaranty you that there is something you are doing different way. Most likely you have a complex user control setup or some conflict with other plugins.
There are a lot of users, I’ve been supported, who are more than satisfied with AAM.
Mostly all possible corruptions in database can be fixed within 10-15 minutes. There were no necessity to rebuild your website.
And I’m not sure that it was so necessary to rush with such a bad review. Remember, I’m donating my private time as well as tones of other WordPress developers in community to create free plugins.

In any case, I do appreciate your feedback and good luck with your future WordPress development.
    Vasyl
