“This plugin hasn’t been updated in over 2 years. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.”

I love this plugin. Is it still safe to use?

  • I was wondering the same thing. WordFence is giving me a warning. RWD – I’ll look around for another custom CSS plugin but if you happen to come across one, please let me and others know.

Hopefully this plugin author will respond.

SiteOrgin CSS works the same way, with additional features within editing of pages. I too went on a search after WordFence warned me it may have been abandoned.

This plugin, like several other popular WordPress plugins, works perfectly well and securely, even though it hasn’t been updated for over 2 years. It interacts with very basic parts of WordPress that have not changed substantially for many years.

Nevertheless, it would be good if @johnregan3 or @dvankooten could keep the Tested up to: tag up to date. That’s all that is needed to remove the This plugin hasn’t been updated in over 2 years message, which can cause unnecessary concern for many users.

    Hi everyone (@rdw, @webauthor, @inkorporate, @buzztone),

Thanks for your concern. I wanted to be sure you knew that I just updated the plugin to ensure compatibility with WP 4.9.4, as well as added the ability to edit your CSS in the Customizer.

    Cheers!

    John
