    Hi @dangbird ,

When installing the plugin, install works fine, when you activate the site returns “This Plugin has an invalid header” and goes to white screen.

That is strange, and we’re not able to replicate it on our end. It is likely that another plugin or theme is conflicting with Square plugin’s header.

    I recommend the following:

    1. Update WordPress and WooCommerce to the latest versions if they are not already up to date.
    2. Deactivate other plugins except WooCommerce, and Switch the theme to Storefront
    3. Install Square.

If the issue still persists, then please get back to us with the following:

    1. Your site’s system status report. You can find it via WooCommerce > Status.
Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.
    2. Look for any fatal errors in WooCommerce > Status > Logs > On the right side dropdown, select any log related to fatal or critical error and then copy and paste the log for us.

Let us know so we can help you further with this.

I was haging the exact same issue. I’ve been trying on and off for two weeks to get this plugin to just ACTIVATE. Looks like a ton of people in the reviews area are having the same problem too (hence the sudden influx of 1* reviews).

Now, I DID SOLVE THIS PROBLEM…

Whenever I downloaded the plugin via WP.org (through the plugins menu) I would constantly get the “invalid header” issue. But then I went to woocommerce.com and downloaded that version of WooCommerce Square, installed that via FTP and activated it with no header issues whatsoever.

Is it possible the wrong package is uploaded to the Wp repository?

    Hope this helps someone!

    Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out and reporting this behaviour!

I’ve just attempted to remove Square for WooCommerce plugin from my own test site and re-install it from www.remarpro.com, which failed with the same error message:

    https://d.pr/i/RO2PzL

The plugin does not have a valid header.

I deactivated some of the other plugins running on that site and I was no longer able to replicate this behaviour. It didn’t happen again after updating and re-activating the plugins which were active when I saw this error for the first time, and I am no longer able to replicate this behaviour.

I don’t see any error logs indicating what exactly happened, but it sounds like a conflict.

If this is still happening to someone – I’d suggest a full plugin/theme conflict test:

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/

Let us know if this is still happening with all plugins except for WooCommerce and Square disabled, as well as the default Storefront theme!
