• This broke browser caching so now no matter what I update it wont update ever in a browser regardless if the pwa is installed or not unless I clear the whole browser history, cache and stored images or load the page incogito, and even with the app disabled and removed it still loads service workers that continue the issue.

Need to be able to remove its changes so things update properly on front end.

    Hi @bellthegaomon

I would like to inform you that, after disabling the PWA, service worker will also disable in case if it’s still loading it means that the service worker was cached on the server.

so it could be better if you could clear the server cache and check.

Hello, I have the same problem. The only way I can see new content on the website is if i clear cache manually.

I have tried disabling the plugin, clearing both browser cache and server cache manually but nothing fixes the problem? What can I do to resolve this situation?

Other than that, love both your AMP and PWA plugins ??

EDIT: Also, as far as I can tell, this started happening after the last update to the PWA plugin. I am running the latest version of WordPress and the WP Fastest Cache plugin.

If that service worker is the problem than how can I disable it? Also could you add an option in the next version to manually disable it?

    Problem 1:
We are also seeing the same issue. Disabling PWA plugin does NOT remove service worker even after clearing browser and server cache.

    Problem 2:
Even though the service worker cache strategy is set as ‘network first’, the service worker still loads the stale post/page from old cache.

I have to change the service worker’s version number is plugin settings to refresh the cache everyday!

Please look into it as it is causing multiple problems.

We are working on this caching issue and in the next update this issue will be fixed.

You can track the process of the ticket here: https://github.com/ahmedkaludi/pwa-for-wp/issues/75

    @anil2122gupta @josephsb

We have fixed this issue in our latest version. Just update the plugin and save the PWA settings.

Please check it and let us know?

Should we change the service worker version as well and then Save the setting?

Yes, You should. I forgot to mention that time.

Please let us know it is working fine or not?

Have made the changes and updated the plugin. Will update in a day or two after verifying the post updates.

    Thanks for quick turnaround time.
