I have installed my website on tranditional model for some time. I wanted to implement at “Standard” mode. I did this yesterday and cleared all cache. However when I visit from my website link, everything looks fine. However if any one searches from google search, it comes to my website, but if we click any of the internal links, it shows page not found error. Here is the step by step to explain where I am getting error

    1) In google search I have typed “myinvestmentideas” (Screen-1)
    2) My website myinvestmentideas.com appears first. (Screen-2)
    3) I click on this link in google search and it takes me to to “myinvestmentideas.com” website (screen-3)
    3) When I click on any of the post links, it shows “Page isn’t working” error

I repeated above steps for many other keywords like “Myinvestmentideas.com p2p” on google search. The first page opens, however when I click on any of the internal links of website it does not open

However, If i open my website directly (without going to google), it opens normally and all internal AMP pages links are working normally.

I have moved this back to “Standard” mode now to avoid fall in google traffic.

Can you pls help me with the solution for this?

    Hello @hisureshkumar

Thank you for the support topic, As you mentioned you were using Transitional Mode before then you switched to Standard mode which resulted in AMP pages being unavailable when you try to reach them.

When you set Transitional Mode previously your site is has been crawled by the Google search console and AMP pages got cached in AMP Cache

If you wish to switch to Standard Mode, it may take some time to update the AMP cache as your site need to be recrawled again for updated links and content.

Thanks for your swift response Milind.

    1) Any idea how much time it may take to recrawl a AMP page? I publish a post every alternate day.

    2) If users coming through organic traffic coming from google cannot click a single page on my website due to this technical issue, our SEO might get impacted right? Any insights about it?

    Hello @hisureshkumar

It’s difficult to tell the exact time for recrawl, I am also unsure how google handles SEO ranking if the page is unavailable, I will recommend contacting the Search Console Support as they can answer Serach console queries better than us.

    Hello

Google has crawled home page 4 times after I have moved to “Standard mode” in AMP. However the problem persist. Can someone look into any technical aspects of whether I need to update any thing in HTAaccess or add any custom CSS ?

    Hello @hisureshkumar

As I rechecked your site, I don’t see any error (screen recording), in case you are still seeing an issue I will recommend clearing your browser cache.

I removed the standard mode and moved it back to transitional mode this morning as website traffic has fallen by 50% due to this. Pls advice any corrections to be done if I need to move to Standard mode.

    Hello @hisureshkumar

Thanks for letting us know about the mode switch, Your AMP pages are valid, everything on your AMP pages seems to be correct, I am not sure why traffic has fallen it will be best to get advice on it from Search Console Support regarding site traffic.

If you continue to see traffic fall I will recommend keeping your site in Transitional mode.
