Venue maps are displaying fine in front end fixtures but in backend WP-admin I’m getting “This page can’t load Google Maps correctly” error.

The last venue I added was on Aug 25 2018 which worked fine, however I can see it does not display this venue’s direct slug page https://soccerholidays.com/venue/stadion-galgenwaard/

I have venues added previously which display fine in the front end direct slug e.g. https://soccerholidays.com/venue/villa-park/

In summary two different issues here then:
    1. Backend WP-admin “This page can’t load Google Maps correctly” error. This seems to have happened within the past week e.g. could 2.6.8 update have introduced this issue?
    2. Direct slug urls for some venues not displaying on front end. Can’t necessarily say this issue is because of 2.6.8 because the example venue given was added when I was on 2.6.7.

    Thanks

  • Hi

I had the same issue when adding a venue today HERE, so i used THIS site added the address and copied the latitude and longitude digits and added them it seem to work as a temp fix i guess
Hopefully a fix will come around..

Please ignore my issue 2 I’ve realised direct slug navigation of a venue won’t return the venue page unless some events have been held at that venue.

Just the issue 1 to resolve ??

Nice one kev147 that worked for me also. Seems it is a plugin level issue then if we both are suddenly seeing the problem.

    Hi @eugenefraxby and @kev147,

Unfortunately I cannot reproduce your issue with Venue maps. It seems to be a “Google issue” though. Is it still showing the same Error?

    Thanks,
    Savvas

Still happening for me too. Google API key issue according to this thread https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/webmasters/yqQYZJzuGqA.

I tried deactivating and reactivating SportsPress as also suggested in that thread but that hasn’t resolved it.

@eugenefraxby @kev147 Thanks for your feedback on this issue.

There has been a recent change to the Google Map API permissions, which we needed to update within our console. This was affecting the admin-side search and embed functionality for Google Maps.

We have updated the API permissions, so the maps should be working now. There is no need to update the plugin itself.

Hope this helps! Please let us know if you continue to experience any issues.
