I recently had to migrate a wordpress site which was setup using the roots.io framework. Trying to use traditional methods such as backing up the database and moving the content was almost impossible, since the file structure is laid out in such a non-standard way.

I’d wasted a lot of time, without success, trying to move this manually, and needed to find a better method.

This was the solution. It allowed me to move the entire site with ease – plugins, settings and everything else in a single migration. Everything worked and the file structure was laid out in a normal fashion on the destination site.
