    Hello,

The new feature (“New option where merchants can control when a Stripe customer ID is created. This is for merchants that only want to create a customer ID during payment”) doesn’t seem to work.

I have indeed selected “when a customer ID is required”. But I see, on my wordpress dashboard, that a customer account has been created while the sale has not been finalized (the customer has just gone to the payment page, on which he has only entered his mail address…).

This therefore means that an account is always created on Stripe, even if there is no purchase or the customer chooses another payment method…

Or am I misinterpreting what that means?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @gilles24

When that setting is enabled, the Stripe plugin will not create the customer until the payment is initiated with a Stripe payment method. It would not create a customer ID if the customer just visited the checkout page.

What you’re seeing is likely a customer object that was created before you made the settings change.

If you perform a test with a guest user and create an account on the checkout page you will see the Stripe customer is not created until the payment is initiated.

    Kind Regards,

    Thank you for your reply.

In fact, I was wrong… the creation of the account in question comes from my test site… for which I had not modified the parameters… Sorry!

And apparently, from the test I just performed, it works fine.
