This Forum “Software”

  • How would you convert miniBB to phpBB so quickly, anyway? I’m switching a client to phpBB now and it isn’t that easy. Spill the beans, back up the bravado and become a hero.

    I like this forum. Is a change from the other heavyweights. ??

    OK, seen as this was dug-up, I might as well make a comment, as Im a phpBB fan. ??
    I do not agree with allusion’s arguments on why the forum software was chosen, I think that maybe he has had no experience with phpBB… but I do think that this software is perfectly approproate for this board. A support board does not need anymore features than are included in this board… for example, why do I used WordPress/b2 over phpNuke? Nuke has way more features and a larger community, but I just dont need it! And its not as simple as WP/b2 is…

    allusion LOVES Valid HTML… he even made is Gallery Valid! It would probably take quite a while to do the same with phpBB… and skinning phpBB isnt all that easy.

    While all the yammering in the world probably won’t change Matt’s mind [and if it did, well, I could drive to Houston and change it back, heh], I gotta say … skimming this forum on dialup is a joy. phpBB, with all the geegaws involved, isn’t.
    I say this as a phpBB administrator and MOD author, too.
    [Heck, if I were moderating this forum, I would have closed this topic long ago. -chuckle-]
