This extension is a nightmare

  • This extension has put a mess in my site, the images show up as thumbnails, or they all disappear from the articles page, and when I try to disable it all the thumbnails of the homepage disappear, but all the external images are still displayed on the new articles. Don’t install this terrible thing, you’re going to have big problems and it will destroy your site. The worst extension I’ve ever installed, I’m sorry.

    I’m not aware about all those problems. Never someone else reported that before.

    Please access Settings > Help > Support > status. Click on that, copy and send me the data. I’ll do my best to try to reproduce the issues here.

    Too late I unstalled it yesterday after too much pain. I forgot to say it slowed down the site like crazy. My site has recovered now.

    Just in case, please let me write some generic answers for the issues here. Maybe it helps someone.

    The image sizes can be defined in WordPress dashboard > Settings > Media.

    It normally happens when there are toggles enabled in FIFU Settings > Featured image > Hide Featured Media.

    Is any action necessary before removing FIFU?
    Access settings and clean the metadata.

    What are the disadvantages of the external images?
    No image optimization or thumbnails. You can fix that with Jetpack plugin (performance settings).
