• I am going crazy. Each time I open this page for edit, half of the content will disappear and pop up the unexpected content EM. Sometimes it will be only for classic block – then I will just simply convert it back to classic – but sometimes it will eat up the entire column with reviews which is standard paragraph block stack and there’s no way to get it back then.
I have 6 tabs, 2 columns in each of them, and seemingly it’s something beyond WP capacity (?).
    What am I doing wrong?

  • ok, so just to be clear your issue relates to you adding shortcodes inside of a classic block correct?

I think this is the main issue, yes.

Hi guys! Unfortunately I am having exact same issue with a page with ZERO classic blocks that I created a week ago (it was in one sitting so not sure if the issue appeared rightaway or only now).
    Here’s the link:
    https://klarakolonits.com/hu/bellini-hu/
Here’s what I see if I try to edit:
    https://klarakolonits.com/nevtelen/

I would really appreciate your help here. There is no way I can edit this page. I have WP, theme and all plugins UTD.

    Hey,
the top link doesn’t seem to work?

What block is that that is not showing? What happens when you try to restore through “attempt block recovery”

    https://www.kadenceblocks.com/docs/how-to-recover-a-broken-block/
    Ben

    Thread Starter kk_admin

    (@kk_admin)

It should be showing, would you try again? I was just trying to deactivate all plugins so it might have been that split second.
As per blocks, I have kadence tabs and those are ok, and then under each tab literally entire thing goes into bug ?? and none of recovery options is working, I click on them but nothing happens. It’s really frustrating.

    (@kk_admin)

Maybe this tells you something, this shows if I click on the (i) icon (content structure):
    https://klarakolonits.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Névtelen-1.png

That is just telling you that for SEO/Accessibility you likely shouldn’t have an H4 there. Instead of an H2.

Go into the page and right click then click “inspect” then look at the “console” log and paste back with what error shows there.

    Ben

    Thread Starter kk_admin

    (@kk_admin)

Another interesting thing: I saved the whole tabs block “as is” with this error as a reusable block, imported in a blank page and everything is there. It feels like a mutating virus that will let me find new antibiotics/workaround and then get resistant to that one too…

    Thread Starter kk_admin

    (@kk_admin)

The error shows nothing related to this, I pasted it before too:

JQMIGRATE: Migrate is installed, version 1.4.1
100x100-77777a7f.png:1 Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found)

It’s odd when a block shows broken every time there is information in the console as to why. I don’t know how you can create a broken block that doesn’t have a log about it in the console.

Did you look before you resaved the page?

So leaving that block as a reusable, if you try to edit it through “manage all reusable blocks” can you access the content of that tab?

    Ben

    Thread Starter kk_admin

    (@kk_admin)

Yes, I just imported this block elsewhere and I could edit it, also if I re-import it into this exact page. This is a functional workaround for the moment but I have troubleshooting OCD (spent more years on SD than I wanted to) and I’m sure you’d also want to know why it happens in case anyone else encounters this. I’m not saying it’s the theme but it’s clearly SOMETHING that makes me bump into this umpteenth time in a row. I have a suspicion it has to do with column layout but then more people would report it right? I can’t be the only person using columns.

I know it’s weird if it doesn’t show error but I don’t know what to tell you. Here’s exactly what happens on a video, the autosave is with the re-usable block trick <first tab was empty before too, that was what I wanted to update today>.

    Hey,
    That is helpful.

So you showed the console log for the front end, but where it would actually show is on the backend, I need to see what the error is in the backend. So before you click on “autosave” or anything else can you look at the console log in your backend, on the edit page.

    That is the issue.

I looked and you are not alone: https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/9504

Appears it has to do with windows clip board format, https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/desktop/dataxchg/html-clipboard-format

When you created this page did you copy the content using a windows computer and paste it into gutenberg?

I did copypaste stuff, mostly using good old practice of pasting only bare text – although I might have pasted something that had (in my opinion) very clean code from previous versions of these pages. But looks like as clean as my code could have been, microsoft always has a way to screw it up.

Now as I do this site bilingually, I copypaste layout as is (again, when I first create it I really try to make it as clean as possible). And yes, it does create two empty classic blocks that I remove.

I tried to switch to HTML for the whole page and remove this piece of code at the end but it will generate the bug immediately.

I’ll follow that thread, and now at least we know why it happens.
