Things Missing on Dashboard – please help

  • Hi,

    I just bought my own domain name with wordpress and am trying to set up a theme when I noticed that:

    1. When I go to themes, the option to upload a custom theme is missing and can’t be found anywhere.

    2. On my dashboard I don’t have a plugins option, no matter which theme I choose from the ones available.

    Is this because my site is brand new (less than 24 hours) or should I be able to have access to these things already?

    I am not very experienced with html or css, or any code at all, so please be as specific as possible if you can help me! I’ve used a blog that was hosted by hostgator before and never had these issues, so this is brand new to me.

    my site is brand new (less than 24 hours)

    – it can take anything from 24 – 72 hours for DNS/nameserver records to fully propagate
    – Every server is different, so ask your host
