They send you spam so you buy their anti spam package

  • Spam began to arrive in the mailbox, I installed a plugin to register and block IPs that make spam. This did not find the IP, install a plugin to register and block robots that fill out the forms. This one was not detected. Today that I did not have any visits to the page, the spam forms continue to arrive, neither the plugins nor Google detected a visit to my page. That is, spam is sent by the manufacturer of this form plugin. And it appears to me constantly; “Do you want to get rid of spam? Buy premium”. A totally unethical sales method.

    Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback and I’m sorry to hear that your previous attempts to block spam were not successful. We encourage users to upgrade to the premium plugin to unlock more antispam options such as Custom Captcha but we already have various antispam features that are available on the Lite version.

    To clarify about any misleading information that you might have seen on this topic, in WPForms Lite, we have a built-in anti-spam option which is enabled by default in the form builder > Settings > General (see screenshot here).

    We also have integration with Google’s free reCAPTCHA service. In case it helps, here’s a detailed tutorial on how to set up reCAPTCHA in WPForms.

    And if you’d prefer not to use reCAPTCHA, we have another anti-spam protection feature, hCaptcha. This is a good option if you’d prefer not to sign up for Google’s reCAPTCHA service. Within your forms, hCaptcha will display a checkbox asking users to prove they’re human (much like Google’s v2 Checkbox reCAPTCHA). We have a detailed guide for setting up hCaptcha.

    Alternatively, if you’ve not yet had a chance to try any of these options, you can consider the third-party plugins such as WordPress Zero Spam or Spam protection, AntiSpam, FireWall by CleanTalk which work out of the box to protect your forms against spam.
