• They are so desperate to force you to upgrade to the Pro version that the purposely make it unusable. For example, you cannot display Posts on your home page unless you upgrade. Seriously? I can’t show posts in a wordpress site? That’s not “Pro” level functionality, that’s a basic baseline of what anyone would expect a WordPress site to do.

Oh, and they also prevent you from using any of WordPress’s built-in Post shortcodes or widgets. That’s right, they purposely cripple basic WordPress functionality, so they can try to sell it back to you.

There are many other examples. But perhaps the worst thing is that they lock you into keeping Elementor installed, because any page you create with it is not editable by any other means, and cannot be converted back to Blocks or basic WordPress.
