• How to kill a product? Buy a good working product or service and try to squeeze it completely dry by asking money for every little piece. That’s what happened to Simple Press. Even all the addons and themes I bought before won’t work on the new update. You should stay away from this company. They are here only for your money.

@dikkevandale – thanks for your feedback. But I’m not sure where you’re coming from there. Prices have been reduced on the low end (to 99.00 for the entire product suite) and a premium support level introduced for the high end. The most you would pay for a single site where you get premium support and all the products is $199.00. I don’t see how that is “squeezing it completely dry”.

Additionally, we’ve invested heavily into the products. Check out our coming soon articles on major new functions: https://simple-press.com/coming-soon-ads-plugin-for-simplepress/ and https://simple-press.com/coming-soon-better-analytics-for-simplepress/. And, we’re also giving away free subscriptions to users who provide their time in giving feedback as we improve the product! See this: https://simple-press.com/free-silver-level-subscription-to-simplepress-learn-how-you-might-get-one-here/. We even conducted a survey on what to build next! (https://simple-press.com/survey-results-and-our-plans/)

As far as your older plugins not working with the latest version – of course that would be the case with a major upgrade. That major upgrade was communicated starting maybe two years ago – way before the transfer to new owners. It was a ground-up rewrite in major areas. With those kinds of large scale changes it is normal for add-ons to need upgrades. Heck, for many plugins in the WP world even minor updates can sometimes require updates to dependent plugins and themes (woocommerce anyone?)

So, not sure what is informing your impressions but wanted to reply to offer a different perspective on things.
