Thesis 1.8.1–accidentally deleted home page

  • Hi, reposting as I cannot find the post I made a little while ago and my profile says I have no threads so I can only assume it never got on, but apologies if this is a double post. I’m using Thesis 1.8.1. I seem to have accidentally deleted the home page. I searched for what to do and it said to use Tools and reinstall; that option is not in 1.8.1, so I used Updates and reinstalled. It made no difference. My site shows zero pages. I had been having serious problems with being unable to update (refresh) pages, and had been clearing the dns cache, which helped. Manually refreshing does not help. I don’t know if this problem is related. I also emptied the cache (using Chrome), deactivated all plugins, switched to Twenty Ten, and reinstalled again. Still no home page. Can anyone help? I am starting to think this is impossible because nothing works as it should, cannot update pages etc… I don’t know if the problem is with Thesis. I could reinstall the whole thing, but am trying to avoid that for now. I will try the Web host too. Thanks for any suggestions!

    Hi–realized something–I purchased the Portfolio plugin and this may have replaced the Home Page–I did set it to be the main page, but did not realize it may have actually knocked out the Home Page–so maybe it’s OK that there is no Home Page. If anyone understands this, or the page reloading issue, I’d like to hear.I am not sure if Chrome is part of the page refresh issue, but clearing the cache doesn’t help. Thanks.

    If I delete something a page, even though I can’t see it, it still shows as there–for instance in the custom_functions.php file, I have to go into CPanel to make the change, as updates to the file don’t work from the WP admin. Having issues like this with other parts of the site too–deleting things doesn’t work. Anyone else experiencing this? Again, this is Thesis 1.8.1.

    Hi reinstalled whole thing…hoping it works… but I still would like some help with the page refreshing problem.
