• I’ve had this issue from the get-go. I don’t write code, I just use the simple page building tools. (insert photo gallery, add text, etc) I’d like to know how to type a dialog of text, then insert an image or two, then add more text, then more images, and so on. It’s like jumping through flaming hoops to do this manually – there’s gotta be an easier way! Currently half the time, when I go to insert additional images, after I’ve already typed up my blog, the image get inserted above my main blog post, and YES, I am mindful of where the curser is at. To add additional images I need to re-create additional ‘galleries’ even though I’ve already uploaded all of the ones I’d like to use. If I add all of the images at once, WordPress doesn’t seem to permit me scooting any images down to make room for text in-between the images. Help! I’m so frustrated! And thank you…

If you peruse my blog, you’ll see that it’s very basic. Text then pictures. I want to easily be able to do text, pictures, text pictures. I hope that makes sense. https://www.jenniferbatesblog.com

  • Are you inserting galleries from the ‘gallery tab, or the button labeled ‘insert into post’ from the ‘from computer’ or ‘media library’ tab? I think you should be doing the latter.

Hi – ok, wow, thank you! You are correct, I should be using the Media Library tab to insert. That enables me to add an image at a time and space a bit to add additional text. Ok, one more thought on this – how can I add a larger series of images, instead of just one-by-one?

    Thanks again!

I should add to the above… How can I add a larger series of images yet still be able to move the images down to add more text in-between some of them?
    Thx!

When you go to add the images, just select multiple files (CTRL+click them) or drag multiple files into the box. Just avoid galleries. Those things have my vote for the craziest ‘feature’ in WordPress.
