To my great dismay, I find that multiple client sites using CF7 now report this error instead of sending the mail. I haven’t touched the contact forms on these sites since I installed them, and verified that they were working.
I had a conversation with the web host I use the most, and they found that my forms were valid, as well.
I am using CF7 mostly with the Divi theme. (Divi’s built-in contact form has some serious limitations and drawbacks.) I have sites with and without caching plugs installed, and CF7 now fails to send mail on both types. All sites are using PHP 7.4x and MySQL 5 at this point.
Anyone? I have read the various troubleshooting resources.
SOURCE OF ERROR FOUND: It is the ReCaptcha v3 that breaks the forms. I deleted the old v3 keys, got new ones just to make sure, still sending of mail fails. I removed the keys entirely, and the forms now work normally. Important to fix this, I think!
