    Few weeks ago, I started to build a new website for new product, but there’s a problem happened and I can not find solutions. The problem is about categorize:

    My website has 5 main categories, for example: A,B,C,D,E and A category has sub category A1,A2,A3,A4,A5. and I have created all the categories. Now I started to build the product page. Now I build one product page and this product belongs to A, A1, A3, A5 and I have choose these categories on the product page. Theoretically, this product/page, will appear in A, A1,A3,A5,but now this product appear in A,A1,A2,A3,A4,A5,B,C,D,E all the category. I am sure, I do not choose the irrelevant page when I build the product page.

    I use WordPress woocommerce build product and theme is enfold. also the website plugin is all normal like my other website.(I have other website and also use WordPress woocommerce and enfold theme, and use the same plugin, no this issue happened.

    So, I do not know why this new website has this problem? Anyone can help? Is this a WordPress bug?

    are you sure this is the problem caused by enfold?

    To be able to detect that we suggested running the conflict test. If the problem disappears when WooCommerce is the only plugin active and the theme is switched to Storefront then either the theme or one of the plugins could be the cause of the issue. A proper conflict test would help you find that out.

    My other sites also use enfold, but all works normal.

    In that case, there are strong chances that one of the plugins is conflicting and not the theme.

    how to clone my site?

    Cloning your site will let you conduct the tests without affecting the live site. That is its benefit. You can clone the site with the help of the WP Staging plugin as advised above.

    I don’t understand if the theme switch to storefront and other plugin all deactive, only woocommerce is active and the issue still exist, then the issue is caused by woocommerce, isn’t it?

    Due to this is not my first website I build, all my site I use the same theme and plugin, and other site all works normal, only this one.

    It seems that at the back of WP, all seems work normal, only when it appears in the front end, the category is wrong.

    Also, as all of you suggest above, I need to deactive all of the theme and plugin, only woocommerce, in this case, my understanding is: the website front end should be normal, then this may caused by theme or one of the plugin.and then I need to try, if I active the theme, if the problem happen, then the issue is caused by theme. But, the fact is when I active all the theme and plugin, all the same, nothing changes.

    I think the problem is at the beginning, when I deactive everything, only woocommerce, the problem still exist, so my subsequent action is meaningless.

    Also, there is another problem happened, I feel very strange. As I said, the theme and plugin I used is not the first time, for many of my website, but only this website has this problem.

    The problem is:

    Everything seems in backend is normal, but when it appears in front end, seems broken.

    I create the category and single product in the woocommerce.

    For example, I want to create a page, and insert one of my category product, I use Masonry block to do it. If things goes right, I click the masonry and choose Product Cat, then in the front end, it should appear the corresponding product in the category I choose, but in the front end, it appears the product not belongs the category I choose, In fact the product appeared not belongs any category I create, that is chaotic, some are the product I created, some are not,I don’t know what’s the link. if I click it, nothing appears and I don’t know where to find that “product link” to delete.
    Also, not matter which category I choose from the Masonry, they all appear the same thing like I described above. I am not sure if this issue is related to the issue we’ve talked(the one you both ask me to do confilct test).

    But, today, I recreate a page and use Mansory, things goes right. What’s wrong? I didn’t change anything.

    PHP is the coding language WordPress is built on, and its version is set at the server-level by your hosting company; they are the ones that can make the update.

    Your host probably can support a newer version of PHP; the problem is that the PHP version of your site is outdated and might generate issues and conflicts.

    My question:

    my other website use same host, same theme, same plugin and also PHP Version 7.3.33, all of them works well.

    But only this one. So, this is not caused by PHP version, I guess.

    Also, in your link, it also mentioned, even I update to 7.4, the theme and plugin may not work.

    Your first suggestion is ask me to test theme and plugin, but this ways still not work. Now ask to update PHP, if this is still not work, how can I do?

    Why I have doubts, is because all my website works normal under the current theme, plugin, php version. It looks I can not get a definite answer that how the problem happened and the exact solution for it.

    Hi @ecomarch,

    I understand that your other website works well with PHP 7.3.33 but we recommend a minimum PHP version of 7.4 to run WooCommerce.

    Changing the PHP version is a recommended step but may be not related to the product category issue in question and may not fix it.
