    I’m using plugin 1.4.4 and WC 3.0.6
    This works:
When testing by adding an item in the cart, I go to the checkout page, and I click the top graphic button to pay by Paypal Express it takes me to Paypal as expected. All good.
    This does not work:
Add an item to the cart. Go to checkout. Select a different payment method. Change payment method back to Paypal Express. Click the Paypal express graphic button at top. I get dumped back to the cart with error message “There was a problem paying with PayPal. Please try another method.”
It seems that it wants the address filled in, although this is not normally necessary for Paypal Express, and the customer is not told why.

Any ideas for a fix or workaround?

Rolling back to 1.4.2 functionality is restored i.e. if the address is blank and the “Proceed to Paypal” button is pressed it gives the informative error of “Billing First name is a required field”…etc and if the graphic button at the top is clicked it still goes through to Paypal even after the error messages and still with a blank address field.

I believe we have this resolved in the release branch on GitHub. It will be fixed in the 1.4.5 update we’ll be releasing soon. If you would like to download it early you can grab it here: https://github.com/angelleye/paypal-woocommerce/archive/release.zip. Then just extract the files and upload them manually to your server overwriting the existing plugin files. That should solve the issue for you.
