There was a problem completing activation of the JW Player Plugin for WordPress

This error is only thrown if the WordPress uploads directory doesn’t exist or isn’t writable.

Just to confirm you set permissions on /wp-content/uploads?

Alright, if they’re created it’s unusual the plugin wouldn’t detect them.

Which directories did you create manually? Did you create the following?

• wp-content/uploads/jw-player-plugin-for-wordpress/
• wp-content/uploads/jw-player-plugin-for-wordpress/player/
• wp-content/uploads/jw-player-plugin-for-wordpress/configs/

Also, looking at the code I’m using a built in WordPress function to get the path of the uploads directory. Have you made any customizations to your WordPress install?

I found the problem. Someone else posted about this issue with another plug in. the specification for the uploads directory in WP 3.1 has a leading slash for whatever reason. Once I removed that it worked.

I have the same activation issue but not sure where this slash needs to remove. Please guide me. I made a custom wordpress installation. this is the page which has jw player video. But the video cant activate in wordpress admin.

Since you’re using 3.0 the slash shouldn’t be a problem for you.

I get a 404 when trying to access the URL you provided. Can you double check that it exists?
