I am trying to integrate Eventbrite with a site of ours. I have installed the Eventbrite API plugin and the Keyring plugin, created a new app on Eventbrite with all of the relevant information, and entered the relevant information back into the Keyring plugin, but when I try to allow the app to access my Eventbrite account, I get this error: “There was a problem authorizing with Eventbrite. Please try again in a moment.” I have Googled the problem and have tried everything I could find so far, but nothing has worked. Any help would definitely be appreciated.

Hi, have you had any luck since you posted here getting connected?

No, I have not. I tried it again after I originally posted this and I am still having the same error.

Sorry to prolong this, but can you let me know briefly, what you have tried?

One of our developers is looking into things and will respond soon on this.

I don’t remember everything I’ve done since it has been a little while since I’ve tried, but I know that I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled both plugins a few times and created multiple apps on event brite, and nothing has worked. I’ve also cleared my cookies/cache and tried it in multiple browsers. The site is currently a development site, but it is on a live server, so would that have any affect?

Any updates on this? It is still giving me the exact same error.

Hi there – is your development site password-protected or behind a firewall, or is is public?

    It is public.

Would you able to test this on a different server to see if your hosting setup is a factor, exactly following the steps here:

    Hi Bill,

What site is your Eventbrite account on? Is it eventbrite.com, or another TLD maybe (eg. eventbrite.co.uk)?

Can you also let me know the email with which you registered, so that I can pass it to the Eventbrite team to take a look?

I tried setting this up again today, and I did everything the same as before, yet it worked this time. I have no idea why, but at least it is working now.

Late as I may be, I wanted to add to this thread in the hope that it might help someone else with this same issue.

I was getting either the “problem authorizing with Eventbrite” or (if I refreshed the page) an “unable to retrieve token” error. I solved it by going back into the app id created in Eventbrite and removing www. from the “Application URL” field.

Once I’d done this Keyring allowed me to connect without an issue.

    Great tip, thanks artelcreative.
