Hi, yet again the facebook plugin breaks my site.

Try to check out you get the message “‘There has been a critical error on your website.’

As the plugin broke Woocommerce refunds recently (resulting in me issuing a customer with a double-refund I can’t get back) I thought this might be the culprit again.
Disabled it and bingo site everythgin works again.

Lost a full days sales, which, in these Covid times is something I can’t afford.

Think it’s time to delete this plugin for good, it’s losing me business and customers.

    fed up

  • Hi @fatpotanga,

Thanks for reaching out. I’m so sorry to hear that the plugin has given you trouble. Happy to help you with this!

Usually, when the site shows you the “There has been a critical error” message, you are sent an email with the error or can find this in your server’s logs.

We have not heard other reports of this issue specifically with the plugin. Would you please let me know if you are able to share the full error so that I can take a closer look into what might have caused this for you?

    Thanks,
    Marcus

Sorry @marcusskyverge , I missed your response. for some reason, despite it being set I’m not getting notifications for replies.

I’ve checked back, I received no error emails. The critical error only came up as you hit checkout, everything else worked fine until you press checkout.

I’ve just kept the plugin disabled, after losing money on a double refund and several failed orders I can’t risk losing any more sales.
I see that there’s been an update as of today so I’ll test it later.

    Hey @fatpotanga,

Thank you for following up and letting me know. Yes, version 2.2.0 was released late last week that might help.

In addition, we’ve seen a number of merchants have an issue with the plugin when their site’s PHP memory limit is set too low. We recommend having this set at 512mb at least. Your hosting company should be able to help you with this if you don’t have direct access to that server setting.

Would you please try updating the plugin and increasing the memory limit to see if that solves the issue?

    Thanks,
    Marcus

    Again, thanks Marcus,

    PHP is already at 1024mb
I updated the plugin and all was OK until PayPal Pro Hosted updated.
Need to investigate further but hopefully it’s just an issue with the latter!
