Themes will not update, theme editor brings up a blank screen, ie wont scroll

  • I have updated my wp site Joseph’s CHD Community and everything seems to be working correctly, besides for when trying to update themes it goes through the action but nothing happens. Using theme wp 2015 and when I go to the theme editor and try to load the, lets say, footer.php file, it brings up a blank screen. This happens with ie and chrome both. Also, for some reason, in ie when you load the home page or any page it will not scroll. It does however work fine in chrome and android.

    Help Please…

    Also, when loading on an android device, for some reason it acts like it wants to redirect somewhere, you say cancel on the android device because the warning says it could be dangerous, hit the back button and then it loads correctly.

    Thank you all for the help in advance. Not much of a programmer but can follow instruction well.

    Thank you @tara, tried that just now and does the same thing. seems as if anything to deal with a theme does nothing…

    – Try deactivating all plugins before manually installing theme.
    – If that does not help, check the error logs on your server for a more specific error message and see why it’s failing. If you need help locating them, ask your hosting provider to help you with that.
    – If you cannot find error logs or if you don’t find any helpful info in the error logs, Enable debugging and post the results.

    Thank you again @tara. The Themes situation is now working fine. It seems my Copy and paste missed the last letter in a secret keycode and when completely redone Wp-Config the issues with the themes work again.

    2 issues remain however, and any help would be greatly appreciated.

    This is browser-specific issue, which has nothing to do with WordPress core. I suggest you consult with the theme’s author
